I thought you folks might like to check this one out. I was able to hand pick the wood, which is some of the most incredible maple I have seen. The guitar plays and sounds as good as it looks and I couldn't be more pleased with it.

Thanks, all. I'm stoked about the new guitar. I think this one is a keeper! I'm really enjoying the responsiveness of the Meredith. This is my first maple reso and it just seems like the hammer ons and pull offs are just so effortless and crisp. I guess that's one of the traits of maple. But also, Tooter is a masterful builder and pays attention to detail, including the setup (which was outstanding).
I played it out at church today......awesome!
All of this said......I love my Fishook (koa) and my Clinesmith (koa) as well. All unique and wonderful instruments.

Tell me more about the neck. It looks like it is 3 pieces of maple sandwiched.
Is that right? That looks just flat AAWWWSSSOOOMe.

It's a 5 piece neck......3 plies of maple separated by 2 plies of mahogany for stability.

My maple has the same neck construction & I wonder if the added mohogany is responsible for the sweet tone & total lack of harshness?

Easterwest,
Many congrats on the Meredith! That neck looks killer, the grain on the side looks like a tiger on fire.

Let's see....A Meredith, Smith and a Hook!!! Damn, you sure seem to have a thing for the super BIG guns...aint messin around. LOL....

When I was looking for my last purchase I had it narrowed down to those exact 3 builders.

What about that Hook? I sure love mine, #77 Koa, about 6 weeks old..

Did you see this thread?

Wow! What a stunning guitar! -Also like the look of the five piece neck. And awesome maple. One of the best looking resophonics I've seen, I think. Congrats!
