Claude, Elderly instruments has Band in a box 2010 for $88. You may want to look there. They also offer a bluegrass pak which I didn't get since I play all types of music. I really didn't understand the difference in the two and if you go to PG music it is even more confusing. So maybe someone can pipe in on the difference. From what I understand there are some real tracks for certain genre's which make the instruments sound real and you can purchase more to add to the particular genre you are interested in.

It sounds like this is what you want: elderly.com/accessories/items/...CDR24.htm
You have to have "REAL TRACKS" to get the really cool sounds!
Here's the link to Band In A Box's Website: pgmusic.com/bandbox.htm
My suggestion would be to call them and tell them what you want to do with it, for example: Do you want Bluegrass Tracks, Blues Tracks, Slow Tracks, Medium Tempo Tracks? If you do, you have to buy them all separately, unless you buy certain packages.
Here's their contact info: * Tel: 1-800-268-6272 or 1-888-PGMUSIC (Within USA and Canada) Tel : + 800-4746-8742 (Outside USA and Canada where International Freephone service is available) (View International Access Codes) * Fax: 1-877-475-1444 * Email: sales@pgmusic.com

The bluegrass is ok but I thought it would have more instruments and options than it has. I bought one of the country tracks too and they have a few more instruments. When you make backing tracks (bluegrass) they sound great and natural but when you slow them down like when you are trying to learn something new they get a little "jerky" sounding, at least to me anyways. They kind of like 120 bpm. Not too expensive tho.

Yeah, you have to buy the correct tempos with the Real Tracks. They have a tempo Range in which they are meant to be played. If you go above or below the tempo that they were recorded it looses quality. Thus, you end up having to buy tons of Sets of Real Tracks. My advice is to just buy the External Hard Drive or DVD with all the Real Tracks/ Real Drums on it. It's pricey, but it will save you headaches, and money in the long run, if you end up buying tons of Real Tracks for different "FEELS/TEMPOS".

I would have bought this a LONG time ago if that website of theirs hadn't been so damn confusing. Horrible site and too many options. How does this thing work on Mac? I've heard that it doesn't have as many options available as with the pc version. Would love to have something like this if I could figure out the right thing to order! Bill
