I have been using curved dunlop finger picks. i seem tp get the three bottom strings hung between the tip of the curved pick and the tip of my fingers. does anyone use the straight finger picks? i think troy posted a thread that he used straight finger picks. if you use straight finger picks how far past finger tips should they extend. would straight tip fingerpicks maybe help with not getting the strings caught between the fingertip and pick? thanks popsey

I use the curved picks and I think that most others do as well. Seems like it would be another case of personal preference. Rusty at Perfect Touch recommends curved for resos. YMMV, etc.

I have the pt's and I find they are very comfortable but if I really start digging I have the same problem between the pick and finger. I have tried bending all different ways. I have not had this problem with other picks but I don't want to change because they are so comfortable. So im not sure what to do either!

<---------- another user of the Perfect Touch picks. Don't get discouraged it happened to me as well with Dunlops and the PT. I finally decided I was doing something wrong, I sat down and messed with them picks for probably 2 hours, bend em, try em, bend em, try em, push em on more, pull em out more, well you get the picture, I FINALLY got them right. Took a REAL GOOD look at them and committed that picture to memory. Voila' no more problems. Ha. Now they NEVER catch. Or you can grow your nails and throw the picks away.

Arlen Roth has the strongest nails in the world, he uses no picks at al youtube.com/watch?v=N7Ve9JUPGn...&index=62 l!!!! I have a middle finger that I "customized" back in Germany in 1967 and I had the devil of a time getting picks to fit for that reason. I found that the Perfect Touch picks were easy to form and I love them for that reason. I have also found that a little time spent with a small pair of needle nosed pliers can be very rewarding as to gettin those picks to fit "just right" . I happened to step on both of my ACRI stainless picks (that never fit right) and after I got through swearing I decided to straighten them out and used the pliars and they fit just fine now, the pliers did the trick for me.

Finger pick shapes are highly personal. Bend 'em and shape 'em the way that works best for you. I have the world's worst right hand and I bend picks almost up to the curve of my fingertips. Pretty extreme but that's what works best for me. They take a little while to break in too. Used Dunlops for many years and for the last few years used Sammy Shelor picks which stick to the fingers well and don't wear out.
Try it all and figure out what's comfortable.
