Thanks Troy, that is really helpful! I know there is no "one fits all" but some good direction never hurts.

You know, the SP2 was one of the first bars I started with, and have stuck with it. I really need to give the Scheerhorn a good test run though! I think I would really like it. The only thing that I don't like about it...is the "Pointy" sharp end that sticks into my hand while I play. Maybe there's a model that doesn't have that, but the one I tried had an annoying sharp end to it that stuck into my palm.
The SP2 is really smooth on the end that sticks into your upper palm. Doesn't annoy me.

Hi Troy,.sorry if this gets a bit Longwinded but please hear me out,.I have asked this of Beard and Fishman,, How they arrive at a one mike Imaging setting for the JD aura pedal when it is well known that Jerry uses 2 mikes on his studio sessions ! one is at ear height and the other 4 to 6 ins from cone/sound holes,, is it a composite of both mikes or just one of them,.im talking about getting the nearest to a JD sound as possible,.of course theres a lot of other factors to consider but it woulld be good to know,.neither Fishman nor Beard have given an answer on this,.also im thinking that if its mainly the MIKE imaging that provides the sound then why cant i use my Dreadnought aura on my dobro and get the sound repesentive of all those good mike images,.also would you recommend the aura system for live situations?, mind you having watched JD on the Fishman site Video of a live gig i have to say that the video sound quality is not very good ,.so its hard to hear the proper sound that jerry is using,.why would they do that?ok ,thanks.dobrocop.
