Think of how much better that fine instrument would look if the seller would have just cleaned it up a bit before showcasing it for sale.

Too much money!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen "MINT" one's go for $800-$900. Sure if you look at "suggested" retail the price looks high, but you can buy the "new" a lot cheaper than listed. Tut's for some reason do not hold their value. The resale on them is low as you can see. I have seen some on e-bay like new not even get a bid at a starting price of $800. My .02 worth.

I have a TTV that is maple, that one looks like the TTT mahogany model. They are a pretty good sounding guitar if you like the old time soundwell construction. Mine doesn't get much use, but I do haul it out just to get that different sound now and again. Like Mike says, they don't seem to hold up their value. I wouldn't sell mine for $1500. It's paid for and it's worth having around for the occasional play.

That's really too bad. They are very well made instruments built just outside of Nashville and sound really good for a soundwell Reso. I have a TTC (Tut Taylor Carolina) and it has a very rich tone. The TTC is mahogany with a spruce top. I prefer the modern sound and volume of my open design Fishook but also like to pull out the Tut every so often. I definitely would not part with mine at the prices they are going for.

Personally, from what I have heard and seen, Tut makes a fine instrument. My understanding and from what i have heard is they have more of the "old timey" sound and most are looking for the more modern sound. For me a Tut would be alright because I do not play with anyone else except mama bear.

P.S. I think used they are a value for the money. Just my opinion.

I agree. Used, they are a real good buy. I bought mine new and it was the first quality instrument that I owned. I do not regret buying it, but if I knew more at the time that I bought it, I would likely have looked around for a good used guitar. I could have bought a much better guitar for what I paid for the ttv new. As I said, no regrets, I am just a little wiser now than I was then.
