Dobro serial number

I have a Dobro with serial number: m7 389 92d and I'm wondering if anyone here can identify the origin. I have been a guitarist for many years now but I'm new to resonators and to this forum. This guitar has the Dobro logo on the slotted  headstock and it's wood with a biscuit cone. I'm pretty sure it was made in 1992 which could make it an OMI but I thought the first letter in the serial # should start with an A if it's American made. Any help would be appreciated.
