Happy 4th of July everybody. I was watching Yankee Doodle Dandy with Jimmy Cagne the other night and thought this might be a good one to arrange for the resonator. It layed out pretty well after messing around with it quite a bit in G. I put in a little rhythm guitar and mandolin to back it up. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I've been working on this since I heard Troy's version of The Water Is Wide and then heard Greg Booth play a version in this tuning with the dropped E on the low string. It makes for some very pretty chords and I thought this song would be a great one to try this tuning on. It always reminds me of the sound track to an old western movie. Hope you enjoy.

Recorded on my jumbo size birdseye maple acoustic round neck with a raised nut built by my brother. Not exactly Rob Ickes but it is my own arrangement of one of the songs my Mother used sing around the house when I was a kid. I used both a Sure SM57 and Electrovoice PL11 microphone to record in Garage Band on my Mac computer.

I uploaded a version of this song a while back when I was still playing my acoustic guitar with a raised nut. This time I've recorded with my new RedLine Rambler Deluxe.

I'd been wanting to learn this song ever since I heard Mike Auldrige's video he made for Beard guitars. So I sat down and figured it out. Such a beautiful arrangement in EBDGBD tuning. I haven't posted anything for quite some time but this really put me in the mood. I'm no Mike A. but I hope you all enjoy it.

Merry Christmas to all you reso-heads. And my apologies to Bing Crosby.
