Home button

Is it possible to add a "Home" button to the top of the left hand list of links ? At present we have to either scroll to the bottom of the page for it, or hit the "Back" browser button. Thanks, Jim

Online Tuner

How about adding an online tuner to the website. I have purchased three electronic tuners, and maybe it's just me, but none of them works worth a dang. Of course they are all made in China, where else? To have a tuner that was easy to use, right here on the Reso Hangout, would be neat!

If there only were D B G D B G, that would take care of most of us, but maybe some other dobro tunings would be good too, as long as the tuner was here anyway.

There are a several online guitar tuners, but I have yet to find one set up for my favorite instrument!

	Just a suggestion,

Taking a Poll

Just for the hell of it I would like to know how everyone feels about the 15 minute time limit on editing a post. I for one liked it better before. I have terminal CRS and it's working it's way into the dreaded CRAFT, so sometimes (ok a lot of times) I mess up and don't catch it right away. I was just wondering how others felt. I have never seen this on a foum before. Inquiring minds want to know.

Tip on Links

Just a little tip. If want to put a link in, right next to the "smileys" icon is a teal colored icon. If you mouse over it shows "link" click on it and put your link in the "url" box. Otherwise the reader can not "click on" the link. You have to copy and paste it to your web browser. BTW the one next to it is for images. Mouse over all the icons when you have a chance. Thing have changed.

Crossover into other hangouts?

I'm sure a lot of us are playing a few different instruments, and I wonder if there is a way to crossover into different hangouts without having to re-register a new (or the same) ID.

For example, I'd love to jump from the reso-hangout to the mando-hangout without having to log in and out.

Possible? Too much trouble?

Pedal, dobro, blues guitar

The Banjo hangout distinguishes playing advice forums for Scruggs-style, clawhammer, and 4-string with playing, and I think that works well. This site might do the same for dobro, pedal, and slide. People who play multiple styles could move beteen forums, but pedal players would not have to weed through squareneck posts, etc.

Better Calendar

What would be the possibility of putting up a monthly calendar instead of a map? I think something similar to the one that is up on Weenie Campbell's site may be easier to read and use.

different cats.

Now that I got you're attention just to let y'all know, I email Eric and asked him how much work would be involved to have to separate catagories with SN and RN dobros. It seems when a thread starts talking dobro, most of us think SN. Then after 15 post it's figured out the topic was RN, to which I know nothing.

Do y'all have any thoughts on this.

This forum is a time machine :-)

Hi

Don´t know if anyone else has already figured out this yet because most of the guys are from the US and the difference in time zones is not that big as it is for someone in europe (like me).

The display of timestamps is treated differently.
For example: I have made a post
"Posted - 10/24/2010 9:28:50 AM" (this is local time, in germany)
which is correct. A few minutes after posting I noticed that I had said not everything I wanted to say, so I edited my post:
"Edited by - rolf on 10/24/2010 00:32:01" (this must be west-coast time?)

And, what should I say, I really feel younger after editing my posts [:)]

Cheers

Edit: I can´t let it go
Edit: This really feels good
Edit: Why am I so tired?
Edit [:D]

Jump to last updated post link and User CP...

I'm on a few other forums and most of them have a little picture next to updated threads that hyperlinks to the newest unread post in that thread since your last visit.

Also, a lot of them have a User Control Panel that pulls up all the threads you're subscribed to (with or without email notification) that have been updated since your last visit.

Not sure if these changes would involve a major overhaul but I'm sure they'd be nice additions if they're not too difficult.

I do a line of beachwear (including T's) and have found thru the years that you will sell more T's with pockets than not. Large logo on the back and a small over the pocket.
Just my .02 cents worth:)

Should the Reso Hangout be the STEEL Hangout?

I want to get everyone's opinion on this...

I'm wondering if "Reso" Hangout is too narrow of an audience--if it would make sense to expand the site's reach to all steel guitar players (pedal steel, lap steel, etc), not just those playing resophonic guitars.

Let me know what you think!

Why should a dobro player never leave home without his slide?
Just in case he''s in an accident, he wouldn''t want to be mistaken for a banjo player.
