Trying to sell early 1930's Dobro

Hi guys,
I'm trying to sell an early 1930's Dobro from the Resonator Centre in London England here's the ebay listing - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=250566753347&Category=2385&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2

To be honest doesn't look like it will sell - am I asking too much for it? What would you guys pay for an early 1930's Dobro like this? If it doesn't sell at this price I'm going to relist at a lot lower starting price if anyone is interested.

Daedalus Rig

Hey all, so i'm considering selling off my live touring rig. It consists of:

Daedalus C-81 Cab
Daedalus 4 space rack
Rane ap 13
lexicon mx200
furman power conditioner
halfer p1500 power amp

I wanted to post here on the hangout because i also have a pretty specialized pickup/mic system i've been using. Basically i had an audio technica ATM-350 mic wired into my input jack with a schatten pickup under the bridge and ran these both into the rane, which if you're familiar with the ap 13, they allow blending and eq of a mic and pickup.

So! I'd love to see this whole she-bang including the pickup and mic go to another player! It would make the most sense considering the customization i've done.

I'm not doing much traveling by land these days and can't fly with this gear so have decided to part ways. I put these pieces together myself over quite a bit of time and they are all immaculate and road tested!

I'm flexible on price due to the large number of items, and will consider all offers,

Please let me know if you have any questions!

cheers!

Tut Taylor "Tennessean"

I'm selling my Tut Taylor "Tennessean" to help pay off a custom instrument I recently took possession of. The guitar is in excellent shape with only a couple bar dings and has rarely been played. It has been kept in my humidified/smoke free studio for the seven or eight years that I have owned it. The original alligator case has a crack in the bottom under the peghead and was received that way.....it still does it's job. Case candy includes two Shubb bars (one bullet-tipped),Nylon reso strap, Beard capo, 2 sets Beard strings, Dunlop picks. Priced to sell at $1000 firm plus shipping and insurance. Interested parties can email me at awm@gci.net
. Pictures can be viewed on my reso hangout homepage.
Thanks, Alan Michael

GT Metal Reso Guitar - Round Neck

For Sale: Gold Tone Metal Body Resonator Guitar
Gold Tone Resonator Guitar
Metal body round neck
For slide blues but could be played as a dobro
I bought this guitar brand new on ebay as grade B - damaged. The neck was coming loose from the body. It had been built at the factory with a dowel stick construction. The dowel stick was breaking away from the neck. I rebuilt it like a banjo neck/rim connection. With a block of wood inside the body and two neck bolts that go through the block of wood and are secured with nuts inside the body - just like a banjo. I guarantee/warranty this neck reset for one year. If it loosens at all, I will repair it at no cost or refund your money - your choice.

It plays very nicely. I've tweaked the string action so that it is easy to fret.
As usual, if you don't like it, I will take it back. You pay shipping both ways.

No case

With regrets, I need to sell my minty '77 Dobro 114. It's a round neck with 14 frets to the body for great bottleneck slide, It's very rare and I've only seen one other, on the Elderly web site. If you Google Dobro 114, you can see it.

Mine is perfect, except for 2 small spots. It has be upgraded with a Quarterman cone and maple/ ebony saddle. It has an great tone and plays easily. It has a new archtop Geib type case, and I can ship the original stamped cone with it.

I need $950 which includes shipping within the CONUS. I have perfect ebay feedback for over 10 years.

Thank you, Doughbro up2snuf@yahoo.com

Why should a dobro player never leave home without his slide?
Just in case he''s in an accident, he wouldn''t want to be mistaken for a banjo player.

'32 National Style O (Schoenberger resto) - $3500

I found a cool old National Style O at an estate sale in Indiana and ended up overpaying for it. It needed a fretboard replacement, so I sent it to Marc Schoenberger on the advice of some vintage collectors I respect. I put another $1000 into to get it perfect.

I'm in a cash crunch right now as I've not been able to sell several of the other instruments I've had for sale for awhile.

I've got this one listed on ebay for $3595, would take $3500 shipped if payment was via money order or check. I'm new on this forum but have tons of references from the mandolin cafe, banjo hangout, flatpick list, acoustic guitar forum, UMGF, etc.

I'm already taking a substantial loss on this one, so I'm not really inclined to drop the price.

Lots of pics here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300333365530.

SOLD -Wechter/Scheerhorn 6535R (Ickes)

I have a 7 month old "Rob Ickes" signature model with HSC for sale. It's listed in the classifieds here, but thought I'd mention it here also. It's like new, very seldom played. New they currently retail for $1500, but can be mail ordered for $1125 (lowest I've seen). For the money, these are hard to beat for tone, volume, etc. having been built to the same specs. as Ickes' Scheerhorn. I'm buying a new Beard (currently on lay-away) and a new mandolin, so I that's why I'm selling the "Ickes". I'd rather keep it, but the econ. what it is, I'm going to part with it. If interested, see the listing in the classifieds. Can send on- line pictures and phone number on request....Thanks, SLYDGTR.

Newbie question on Dobros...

A friend of mine recently gave me his Dobro. He no longer is able to play due to a stroke, and thought I could use it.

Its a recent model squareneck, and an OMI instrument, I believe. I am a guitarist who knows nothing about resos. I'm thinking of selling it for a roundneck reso, but I have no idea what model this is. It's only a few years old and I'm sure it isn't worth a pile of money, but I want to ask a fair price.

How can I tell which dobro this is? It has a Dobro decal on the headstock and stamped serial number on the end of the headstock. What would I look for to determine the model?

1935 Oahu Hawaiian Guitar Model K71

Circa 1935 Model 71K Oahu square neck Hawaiian style acoustic guitar in beautiful condition with Indian Chief head stock design. Gold leaf deco pattern on top with sunburst finish. Front and back of body are very clean, solid red spruce top, ladder style bracing, beautiful curly maple back and sides and an ebony stripe down the back. Scale length appears to be 25 ¾”, depth of lower bout is 4 inches, depth of upper bout is 3 3/4, width of lower bout is 15 5/8”, width of upper bout is 11 ½”, body length is 19-3/4". Overall length of guitar is 40" from peghead to lower bout. Rosewood peghead overlay, celluloid bound body, soundhole & neck. Appears to be a rosewood fingerboard and rosewood pyramid style bridge. It has Grover style tuners (although actually these are “Stanley Patented” tuners) in very nice condition with buttons that all work well with no slippage. 4 pearl position dots on the fingerboard and 2 pearl dots on the bridge. This is a very cool old big body jumbo flat top guitar with a warm and beautifully balanced tone. A beautiful vintage instrument in very nice condition. Shipping from Washington state will be at buyer’s expense – I will pack it up for shipping in a nice heavy duty guitar shipping box for no extra cost. $1,100.

Advice/Opinions Wanted

For a beginner, I am still looking for a reasonably prices reso guitar. I saw on eBay several Morgan Monroes, and Regal Black Lightnings. Prices range from $400-600. I know that like a lot of these lower-priced dobros, that they originate off-shore (China, Taiwan, Korea, etc.).
Are any of these worth the "investment" for a reso beginner? Or should I continue to save my money and opt for a reso like the Paul Beard Mahongany Goldtone in the $1000 range?
I am retired so my spendable income is somewhat limited.
All opinions, thoughts, advice will be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks everyone.
