From SGF. "America's favorite sheriff, Andy Griffith passed away this morning at age 86. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Griffith family. Andy was a classic. I guess Jim Nabors and Ron Howard are the only original members left of the Andy Griffith Show. Some of the others like Eleanor Donahue, The Dillards, et. al. came later." and I concur.

Probably one of the best shows ever. Thanks for the memories Andy. Wish our culture mirrored life in Mayberry.

Agreed. Ron must be devastated. He basically grew up with Andy and I am sure, given the story lines in the show, had a huge effect on the person he is today. I tell you all the garbage they push today makes me physically ill. The "reality" shows, violence for the sake of violence, sex for the sake of sex, the downward spiral of "actors" in general and even the "News" What happened to good wholesome and truly funny shows. Or the variety shows. Gone and replaced by the likes of Jersey Shore, The Apprentice, Survivor and the like, none of which I have ever watched and never will. I have pretty much been relegated to watching movies. Where's Johnny.

I don't watch much tv anymore but I still watch The that show from time to time. It's still my favorite show of all time. Like Grizz said most of what's on these days is a bunch of garbage. I do like mountain men and have been watching that lately.
