Hello to all, I just purchased a Dobro metal body roundneck. On the top of the headstock it shows the numbers 541 7D. Can someone please help me figure the date and model. It has etched clouds, palm trees, moons.  Thanks in advance.

OH heck I thought there some lucky lady here needing advice on where to find one of us to date, sorry

Oh.. when I first saw the topic title I thought you were looking for a date.  I was going to send you to 'string'mealong.com or UnderTheCoverplates.com.  Even though those don't exist, that wouldn't be too bad of a name for a Dobro Dating site.  Their motto could be, "Are you 'board' with the 'bar' 'pickup' scene?  Don't 'fret', 'slide' on down to StringMeAlong.com.  We're not here to 'pull your strings' or 'slant' your desires.  We're here to help you find a date, without you having to spend a lot of dough, bro!"

Sorry for jumping in on your post, I couldn't resist.  I don't have any helpful advice, although I know there are some people here that can help you.  I will say this though, if you are looking for a dobro dating site, I would stay away from LowGString.com...

Tommy, to the Hangout. I did not think this was a "dating" request. Anyone hare that will be able to help you will probably want some photos. But then again I have been wrong before. But I would.

Tut Taylor and Bobby Wolfe maybe able to help you with the date on your metal Dobro. Bobby had published an in depth book concerning the Dobro, but I believe it is now out of print. I don't have Bobby's e mail address, but perhaps someone on this net may have it.
