Hello everybody I have attempted to research some history on this old girl and have had no luck. The main thing is it sports a wood screen and bridge cover? No serial numbers in or out. I'm dying to know any thing about it as it has become my favorite and don't want to road dog with it too much and wear her out.

The pictures are pretty blurry, unless it's my eyes. Could be a little of each. Try posting a closeup of the headstock logo. Maybe someone will recognize it. Paul |

I made an error. You said it was a Regal? Maybe just a head stock waterslide that says Regal that someone put on there. It appears to be a "faux" resonator. There have been many of these up for identification and some of those had waterslide's that were "added". To what end I could not say. I can't say 100% for sure but, I don't believe Regal made these. There are several others here that are far more versed in the Regal instruments than I, and I am sure they will be along to help you out. BTW welcome to the Hangout. Oh and your 1st and 2nd string are not in their slots.

That doesn't look like any Regal I've seen before, and it appears from the third photo as if the bridge is attached to a piece of wood, not a resonator cone. I'd love to see more pictures of the headstock and inside the guitar.

Hey Brad, the waterslide color reminds me of the Oahu aqua color. Like you said though better head stock photo. It is my understanding that most of these "faux" resonators don't have much of a resale value.

I'd agree, Grizz. If it's a "faux-bro" it's not worth much.

Here is a better look guys I hope it helps. The cone is pretty responsive and will talk back when hanging on the wall.

Well, you gave me two photos and took away the others. Could you please post clear photos of the entire guitar, front and back? I was apparently wrong about the lack of a resonator, but I haven't see a cross tie wooden spider like that before.
Here is a similar instrument. Guesses are that it was constructed during the 1930-34 time frame.

Great link Brad. Well this now is a horse of a different color, so to speak. Evidently this is a rare find. Curious as to what the value could be. Elderly or Gruhn would be the ones to ask.

Actually like I told you I love it! I don't know if there is anything other than what Brad posted and like I said I would definitely defer to the experts.
