Just wondering if anyone has ever used "Stabilzed" maple for dobro bridges? It has been used for knife handles, pistol grips, etc. for many years - It's basically maple that has been totally saturated with plastic resins under heat and pressure - If anyone wants to try some I have some left from my custom knifemaking days that I would be willing to donate if some one wants to try it and is willing to report back their findings on the forum - If you want to do this contact me off list at dbrooker(AT)dbrooker.com with your contact info - I've posted the same offer on another forum and I'd be willing to make this offer to 4 different people and I already have one taker - Just thought I'd make the offer - Feel free to ask questions - Dennis Brooker

I am looking forward to testing mine out. The advantage to the stabilized wood is that it is impregnated with a plastic resin often an epoxy. I think that it would give really good results, the impregnated wood should be incredibly hard, and incredibly durable. I will post my findings after I get the inserts and install them.
