Seems like I read something somewhere about fixing a buzz. I tried to find a thread on this sublect, but was unable to locate it. So forgive an old man if I repeat aubject already discussed.
I have a Gold Tone PBSD Maple. I bought a Beard capo which I really like. After quite a bit of use (several hours), when the capo is on the second fret, the first string causes a little buzz. The spider legs are not quite at exact 12:00, 3:00 and 9:00. If I were closer to Hagerstown, I'd take in to Beard's; however, I'm way out here in Oklahome and don't want to take it to just any old guitar shop. Is thie something I can correct myself? Thanks.

Put the legs back at 12:00, 3:00, and 9:00.

Since I have never had it apart, do I loosen the strings? Take the cover plate off? Thanks.

Be sure not to touch the cone with the screwdriver. You do not need to loosen the strings to move the spider assembly back to normal. Use a very, very small screwdriver. Place the edge of the screwdriver against the side of the spider and with very little pressure move the spider in the direction that it needs to move in order to straighten out the spider.

The previous forums and replies are all archived within this site. So you go to the section on building/set up/repair and just scroll back into earlier dates. On 2/25/09 there was a discussion on first string buzz. There were 20 different replies covering 2/25/09 back to 10/23/08 and lots of good input.
