If you where to lay a Beard cover plate on a table, what would be the measurement between the table and the bottom of the hand rest?
Thanks for any help on this!!!

Take a stack of quarters or poker chips and keep adding vertically until the last chip touches underside of coverstrap.Remove coverplate and measure the heighth of the stack. It's kind of old fashioned and simple but it's a quick answer. Also if you have clearence problems you can shave or sand the wooden bridges as they sit in the spider. It's a lot easier than trying to bend or stretch a metal coverplate handstrap upwards to create a few 16ths inch of extra clearence.

Thanks Slideman,
First off I just want to say....
You are one hell of a great contributor to this place!! If there was an award for the most helpful forum member I would vote for you!! You are...the SLIDEMAN!!
Second off...
Unfortunately, I do not have a Beard coverplate. I do have a coverplate I am thinking about sending to the guy that is building a custom Koa for me. He mostly uses Beard coverplates but Beard seems to be out of stock for the most part right now.
What I don't want to do is use a coverplate that the builder will need to alter his S.O.P. in order to accommodate it.
I am looking to put a poinsettia coverplate on my Koa, I have one but sill not sure if I want to use this one. It is (I think) a NOS OMI plate, it just is not totally flawless but looks very good over all. Just wondering where it might stand compared to a Beard in height?
Maybe I might be lucky enough to have Howard chime in..... I had a post on the Steel Guitar Forum a while ago where I was looking for a poinsettia cover plate. Howard said he had one. But I ended up getting to busy to take him up on the offer back then.
