It would be good to own one but I have never seen one or even heard one .
Any sound bits anywhere Phil?

phil dean - Posted - 11/24/2009:  17:47:49

There are several songs on this site ,go to Media Archives and click on music search. Tennessee Traveler, Song#3, and Carried to the table are all there. Not real good quality recording but you will be able to hear them. Plus I have a sound byte on my website. It usually takes a few minutes when you pull up the website, but, it will come up if you give it a minute. You can click on the advertisement at the top of the page to go to my website or go to masteresoguitars.com

This is very generous of you Phil. Kudos!

phil dean - Posted - 11/24/2009:  19:31:39

Now if I could just figure out how to get the entry/registration process started we can get on with it. I will be building starting this weekend so that in about 60 -90 days the new owner will have it. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise!

Hi Phil --

I did this promotion last year with one of our RedLine Reso. guitars and it worked great all the way around. The reso. side of our business got good exposure, there was a lot of activity on the website and in the drawing, and One Lucky ResoHead got a guitar that he's still crazy about.

As I recall, Eric handles the entry/registration business. I think we just sent him a page of artwork for the promotion, although he will do that for you, if you like.

BTW, sorry I missed your call yesterday. I was busy bending up sides for a couple of curly maple Peabodies, and our version of a mahogany J-45 acoustic. I'll try to get a call off to you today.

Good luck with the promotion! Glad to see another American Built Reso. as a part of it!

phil dean - Posted - 11/25/2009:  10:07:02

I'm not geared for a large promotion, and I make 'em one at a time, since its only me. So its going to be pretty straight forward. Enter and get a very nice Custom Reso if you win.

SteelRailOut - Posted - 11/25/2009:  14:24:33

I'll be checking this thread obsessively for that application. Any shot at winning a Mastereso is worth it in my eyes!

Brad Bechtel - Posted - 11/25/2009:  14:35:01

Just send it to me, so you don't have to bother with all the drawing stuff. Just assume I'll win it! :)

Seriously, whoever gets it should be a very happy player. Thanks for doing this for the hangout!

bris48 - Posted - 11/25/2009:  17:56:37

Hey Phil,
Pay no attention to brad, I know I will probably win
and to save you the shipping
I WILL come down and pick it up my self

Square Neck - Posted - 11/25/2009:  17:59:12

I just entered!!! I don't know why, I never win anything LOL. But I had to, just for a tiny phantom of a chance I might win one of Phil's guitars. Phil, I have never played one, but they sure always look killer!! Mahogony always works!

Thanks Phil!!

Happy Turkey Day!!

Arrowsmit - Posted - 11/25/2009:  19:11:24

I'm in too...

Vic

Dean Upson - Posted - 11/26/2009:  02:58:35

I never win either, but there is always a 1st time. I'm in!

phil dean - Posted - 11/26/2009:  08:54:26

Hi folks, I will have the first photos of the build in my album here on RH around the middle or end of the week. I will be milling the back, top, and sides to thickness this weekend and joining the back and top using a jig I made for this purpose several years ago. Should be bending the sides next week also. Phil

Remember that's curly sycamore binding
on my new reso Hmmm......

phil dean - Posted - 11/27/2009:  06:35:53

Well sir, I am going to have to look at all possibilities before I put the binding on it to make sure its what I expect out of one of my guitars, before I do it although I feel the sycamore is going to be right, just going to make sure Bobby. Phil

I would like a dressy lyre coverplate and wood binding on my new guitar. Thanks for asking . ;-) I hope it will fit under our tree!

Dean

Arrowsmit - Posted - 11/29/2009:  06:45:38

I'm w/Dean & vote for the lyre c-plate. Thanks again for doing this Phil!

Vic

bris48 - Posted - 11/29/2009:  08:14:32

Hey Phil,
It really doesn't matter what you put on Dean and Vic's reso's,
but the one I am going to win I would like the more dressy Lyre coverplate
and of course the wood binding ;-)

I'm with the crowd on this particular dobro having a lyre coverplate. This is the kind of thing that keeps me very up to date with the site as I visit every single day to enter. I catch up sometime or another anyway but I'm on it now. Phil, if I get that dang lucky and win, I will most definitely spend a day driving to your shop at your convenience to pick it up and thank you. Thanks just for giving us all hope anyway.

bris48 - Posted - 11/30/2009:  14:06:00

Yes Phil,
DOUBLE what Tom Jr. said
THANK YOU PHIL

I like seeing the in-process stuff. Kind of like an ultra sound of a baby. Not much you can do about anything but still very neat to see.

harperk31794 - Posted - 12/02/2009:  18:13:51

Phil,

Great of you to put this up for a drawing, I've never won anything but if I should win, I'll definitely drive up to your place and pick it up. In fact, soon as I get a chance I'm coming over there anyway. By the way, I know where Milledgeville is.

Tom Jr. - Posted - 12/03/2009:  05:39:07

Things get mighty slow for my business (land surveying) in the winter. It would be great to hang around your shop and learn how good guitars are made. Something like that is definitely on my "bucket list". What will happen though is I'll probably take on a short term construction project in very inclement weather that no one else wants to do.

banjomon - Posted - 12/03/2009:  09:01:00

I already own a custom curly maple Mastereso.....but I believe there's room for a curly mahogany too.....

bris48 - Posted - 12/06/2009:  15:43:08

Hey Phil
Take your time on my curly Mahog
It is not often I win a beauty like this

Phil, I give you carte blanche on my winning reso. Do whatever you want to do with it, to it, etc. I trust you implicitly to make an amazing instrument.
