Hi Teddy and welcome the the best reso site on the web. The nicest, friendliest and most helpful people you will find. The answer to your question lie's in how much do you want to spend? For around $50.00 you can go to Lakota Leathers here lakotaleathers.com/ Up the scale, Martin Gross, in Germany, they start at around $150.00. Martin is a reso player extraordinaire, the nicest guy you could ever meet and makes some top notch beautiful straps. I have one on order from him right now and I am told they are the most comfortable straps you can find, go here martingross.com/ Next is Bobby Poff, his start at $225.00. I was fortunate enough to pick up one used that was like new and I love it. I will give you 2 options for his and some pictures. rpoffmaker.com/ his website for pictures here dobro-wolfgang-reimer.de/Bilde...ndex.html or you can buy them at Elderly's here elderly.com/brand/POFF.html There are others but not of this quality I believe of these three. Good Luck and take care.

I have a couple of Bobby Poff's straps and you can see them on my homepage here on R/H. You should call him, because I think his email is screwed up. He is a great guy and will do anything that you want . His straps are great. The are from shaller and they are availabel from Ederley, Janet Davis or just about anywhere else. You will have to swich out the strap button with the lock, easy enought to do, but be sure to loosten up the strings when you do it!

I'm using Webb straps. I like them because they have the quick release on the headstock side. When I put my guitar in the case, I disconnect the strap from both ends and roll it up. What do ya'll do with straps that don't disconnect from the headstock?

Hi Dave, how ya doin guy? Haven't chatted for a while. Anyways, the Martin Gross and Poff straps have the quick disconnect from the headstock and for a few dollars more you can have a disconnect added to the Lakota strap. I have also heard a lot of people use the Webb strap and like it as well.

Thanks Mike. I have three resos and two straps and want to eventually pick up another strap. Lots of good choices out there, but I kind of got set in my ways with the Webbs. I have no complaint with the Webbs, but I may try another.

Whenever anyone asks about straps, I like to also recommend a straplock for the other end. I use and like Schallers.

Right on about the locks, Dave. And actually I play sittin, I just lost my lap somewhere and I can't find it. I say I am just "well fed" Early on I kept hearing about these Poff straps. I checked them out an put up a post on another site asking why the reso straps were $225 and up. I thought what the hell, I have some top of the line guitar straps that were no where near that price. That's when I was told about the Webb, Lakota, and Souldier straps. The only reason I have a Poff is Dave, who brokered the deal for my res, had a used one, we became good friends and he sold it to me at a price I couldn't turn down. The Martin Gross strap is a gift for my wife for our anniversary. Martin has been so kind and doing a little extra and not charging me. I got to say right now if I ever need another, it will be Martins. Anyways, good chattin with you as always Dave. You take care my friend.

I use a Martin Gross strap and it is the most comfortable instrument strap that I have ever played with. I always recommend a Shaller strap lock. Have fun:) Martin is a great craftsman and a great guy to work with as well. Also have quick release connections on the neck end.... simple to switch between resos.

The less expensive padded leather strap, Planet Waves quick release system and Schaller strap lock.

George, you are right, it all depends on what you want and of course the big question is what do you want to spend. I consider myself very fortunate to have the Poff. Actually, Martin sent pictures this morning and I didn't know this but he makes two headstock straps with each one in case you want to put the main strap on another res. Now that's cool.

I love my Lakota strap. order from the website and cool photos.

Long Hollow padded straps can be bought on ebay for around 45.00 bucks and they are as good as you can get for the money. They are tooled leather and quite nice looking, besides being very comfortable. I always use a shallar strap lock.

Now for one of the most comfortable straps you can use. Go for the Martin Gross strap. They are custom made to fit you you.And at a price that is reasonable for a custom beautiful strap around 145.00 bucks and worth every penny. Martins email is marting55@googlemail.com and google his web site.
