Hey gang,
I'm trying to find some older Dunlop finger picks, the ones with the notch in the top , and only 2 holes each side , Hard ones maybe .0225 or harder

Hey Bobby - I've been trying to find some of these, too. Much easier on the cuticles. In another recent thread it was suggested to get some liquid metal to fill that extra annoying hole and sand it out with a dremmel tool from the inside. I'm going to give that a try. Hopefully, Dunlop will realize the error of it's way and start making their picks the right way again, eventually.

I have a pair from the '70s .025 thk. I don't know what you mean by the "notch" but they only have 2 holes on each side. I don't use them, as I like the old Nationals. They have hardly been used, but need a good polishing. They have a lot of "patina" Lets not fight over them....... lol

I won't fight Bobby for them if he wants them. After all, it's his thread. That gives him "dibs". I have 3 sets of the old "two hole" Dunlops that are .015s. They are a bit thin but I'm used to them and I think they have great tone for the way I play. I also have a set of .0225s but I've bent them up so much they sound like heavy grit sand paper across the strings.

Bobby - The old Green Machine is settling in quite nicely thank you. Haven't recorded anything lately but I've been wood shedding it quite a bit. Your new "Blue Moon" is looking great. One of these days I'll make it down your way and you, Steve and I can get together and swap stories and play a bit.

Here is picture of my Dunlop picks. There is no last hole at the top of the band where it wraps around on top over the cuticle of the finger. These are very comfortable but for some reason Dunlop thought it was better to drill another hole in the picks that are available now.

I've got a pair like Dan's -- much more comfortable for me. Not only do the new ones have the extra hole, but the ends of the bands are more concave than they used to be, which grab and bite my cuticles more than I like. I've tried flattening them a little with a pliers, but I think the overall angle of the bands is different.

used I even use an old .018's for banjo

You know I was looking at them again and realized that both sets have two holes on each side. They are just moved up higher and over the top more on the newer Dunlops. I just don't get what they were thinking.

Hey Gang,

 Dunlop has starting making the  older finger picks again, the ones  without the  upper  hole. I just bought 2 sets  from Mary's Music in Dickson Tn.

I am going to but  a few more sets before I leave  for Bean Blossum friday. If  you  still  need  some  i will  be  on camp site 174/173 a 3 tone gold and brown Newmar Kountry Star.

OBTW Ole Blue ( REDLINE "THE PEABODY") is still  kicking  ass  and  getting  better  and  better  everytime  I open  the  case!!!!!!!

Funny this should come up again. I was just over at Mass Street Music in Lawrence, KS this past weekend and found a brand new set of .020s with holes moved down on the sides out of the way of the cuticles. The last one's they had. They must have thought I was crazy I got so excited. They told me that is what they got the last time they ordered them from Dunlop. Somebody must be listening out there.
