I'm on a few other forums and most of them have a little picture next to updated threads that hyperlinks to the newest unread post in that thread since your last visit.

Also, a lot of them have a User Control Panel that pulls up all the threads you're subscribed to (with or without email notification) that have been updated since your last visit.

Not sure if these changes would involve a major overhaul but I'm sure they'd be nice additions if they're not too difficult.

I would guess since most everybody here has paid nothing to be here, we just sorta live with what Eric's done. Although Mike told me to go to the "active topics? tab and every unread or new post will be listed. That's what I do now anyway.

this is not easy to do on this forum (though I must agree that I´d like this feature too) because you reach the posts by scrolling and not through clicking anywhere. I bet that the other forums you mentioned have another navigation paradigma. The "active topics" link is my friend also.
