I started this last summer and then it got interrupted by a Beard reso kit.  Now, I have time waiting for  finish coats on the Beard to dry.  

For some reason, I didn't take any photos of the process until the box was almost together, so I'll just pretend that everybody watched me bend the sides, join the top and back halves, do the rosette, and glue the top and back to the sides.

Here's where I started taking photos - gluing the back to the sides.  The top is already on.  Yes. rubber bands.

Here's the rosette.  Just a tiny bit of bling!

Here's my Bocote fingerboard sitting on the box.  I filled the fret slots with maple veneer.

Then I cut the binding ledges with my router tower.  Sorry no photo of the weiss cutting, but here's one of the router on my Beard reso kit.

Gluing the binding on with LMII binding tape.

And I bound the fingerboard. The fb is not glued on yet.

That's where it is now.  Next things to do are - scrape the binding down level, glue the FB on, make a bridge, and other stuff.  Coming soon!

My gosh Dan, You are becoming a regular factory of high quality reso's.    Love seeing the progress.   Seem like every morning when I check the hangout I look for your posts.

Scrumptious koa, beautiful lines, and I love that fingerboard and the binding.  Yum, yum YUM.  Thanks for posting these.  I hope you'll post the bridge and finishing photos too:  I like watching a guitar come to life  What wood will you use for the bridge?

The bridge will be the same wood as the peg head overlay - Honduran Rosewood.

Beautiful Koa, reminds me of the old Ukuleles we had when I was a kid, highly figured wood was not used as much. Like I said before. " Kit?, you donʻt need no stinking kit".

Just curious, did you use a bending iron, and hand bend the sides, or make a form to press them in?
