Hey everyone,
I am new and honestly dont know a whole lot about Resonators to know where to start looking for ideas so I came here.
I am not advanced on the guitar by no means but love the sound of a resonator, and wanted to get one to play on and learn more.
I found a preowned Fender in a local shop today and got it for around 200$ and it is a beauty...I have just heard of some people taking this same model and tweeking some aspects of it.
What would yall suggest? I have restrung it and I just wanna get the best sound I can get out of it for bluegrass type music styles.
Thanks for your help!

IMO, the problem with the FR50 is the body and neck. The body is way too flimsy, and the neck is like an electric neck (42mm?), and just glued on. The f holes look daft too. The metalwork is all OK.
I bought a smashed FR50 and put the metalwork (tuners, cone, cover) into a OMI body and an old 12 string neck. It sound fantastic.

Well it was second hand and a good deal for my first Reso, and I love it so far...action is a little high and i think it could use a bit more voice compared to other reso's ive heard. but i really dont know much!
Im sure my love is gonna grow even more and I will get an even better one in the future.
