Hi All!  I finally got some video of my all wood tricone online.  Hope to get it in the studio for some audio soon, but these videos captured it really well!

Beautiful instrument.  I like the sound.

Great sound. More metallic (if you'll forgive the comparison) than I expected, but with very dobroish overtones. - The only wood tricone I've played was disappointing, warm and woolly, like my socks. It left me wondering about the internal construction. Did you use a metal soundwell, tenon stick, soundposts?

The deep cutaway looks a lot like my Beltona, which, by contrast, is very warm sounding for a brass tricone. I think they would fill similar niches.

Hi Tony,

It does have a neck stick/tenon construction.  I really feel like this helps contribute to the tradional tricone sound, although I have no real evidence other than listenining to different builds to support that theory.  The stick is supported by two soundposts. The conewell is wood also.  I have heard a wood bodied tricone with a metal soundwell, and it did sound good.  I had never seen one entirely made of wood before (soundwell, coverplate, tailpiece, palm rest, soundhole lattice, etc) and I had always wanted one, so I finally drew it and built it myself. I am very happy with the results.

Let me know if you have any more questions.  I can talk about resonators all day! :)

And thank you to everyone for all of the nice comments!

Jon
