I have a 1994 National Reso-Phonic "Radio Tone" Resonator Ser.# 409. (not the Bend Away model) I believe it's a solid Maple body with a laminated Maple top. "F" holes are cut in the upper bout, no cutaway. I'm trying to find out what these sold for new and what they maybe worth now. I have not been able to find out much using the internet. Can anyone here help??
Thanks, Strumbox

Why not contact National Resophonic Guitars directly? It always helps to go directly to the source.

Thanks Brad, I had sent an email to National earlier. Just thought someone here might have some info.

I have a Radio Tone from the early 90's as well. Great sounding guitar but I don't think they are terribly sought after. I see them for sale for anywhere from $500-1000. I picked mine up for $500 and it has a Highlander pickup in it! Don't know what they cost new, please share that info if you get it!
Here's a photo of mine. Not too pretty cosmetically (with that headstock, were they ever really pretty?). Lots of play wear, but it's rock solid and sounds fantastic!

Thanks Gaucho for your reply. I haven't had any response to my email to National. (obviously could care less) This has become a pain because there is nothing out there, at least at the moment. I did find some previously sold but, unable to find out what they sold for. Mine is in better shape, probably an 8 outta 10.

Are you looking to buy another one or sell the one you own? I'm surprised you haven't heard from National - they're usually very good about this sort of thing in my experience.

Radio Tones are really cool but its a small market for high end wood body biscuits, and the bendaways may have been more popular. I bought one of the very last bendaways at retail back around 2005-2006 for something like $1400, discounted slightly I'm guessing. When they were recently reintroduced they're asking almost $2400 new. Used bendaways in good condition are listed around $1500 sometimes. Yours probably sold for a few hundred but might be worth up to $1000 or more depending on condition and somebody willing to buy it.
