A lot of folks on this site have Band in a Box or similar software, so, how about a place that you can share, and / or swap backup tracks that you have created yourself. Would there be any copyright problems with that ?

You can already swap MP3s... that's what I would recommend doing. Just put "Backing Track" in the title, then people can easily search by that and find 'em.

If you use the iRealPro software on your OSX,  iOS or Android device, there's a very extensive collection of backing tracks and chord charts available in their forums.

Otherwise there are all kinds of backing tracks available depending on the type of music you like.  Try Old Time Jam for example.

I was thinking of more obscure material that isn't readily available on sites like those.

Good suggestion Otdobro. As per Schlange I see members have already contributed in the past using the "backing track" tag. I'm struggling with BIAB 2013 too but once I have some decent material will upload.

What sort of obscure material are you seeking?

I'm not looking for anything myself, but I know there are folks that struggle with band in a box, and I thought it would be nice if you could upload a BIAB file here, and anyone could download it to their own computer if they have BIAB, and do what they want with it, in terms of tempo, key etc. I know I have emailed BIAB files in the past to folks of songs that Oswald recorded, and it worked out well for them. I don't know where else you would get backing tracks for such material as that.
