Considering buying a new MA6. Currently play a Beard R Mahogany that I really like.
Any comments from folks that have played the MA would be appreciated.
Thanks

I bought a new MA6 earlier this summer. IMHO the MA6 is the best-sounding model Beard makes.
Compared to your R, which is a really good-sounding reso, the MA6 will have a bigger, fuller sound. The sound is very balanced and clean, with a lot of sustain. All of the MA6's I've played have been good, but this particular one sustains forever and was good enough that I was forced to buy it against my will.

That's a good one, Rzn8tor. I'll have to remember that line

PM or email me Trapper.... just bought a new MA6 a month ago and may sell it ? Actually may sell everything ? The MA is the best Beard I've owned. Just sold a Maple E not long ago as well. The R is great, but the tone, sustain of the MA is just unbeatable IMHO.

I owned a Beard R, it was excellent, but I sold it to get an MA6.
Never regretted the decision. Full / warm sound, that's inspirational.
I like it better than a few higher priced resos that I had the opportunity to try.
Mine is now 4 years old. I was on the road last week, and stopped into it's birthplace, to have Paul and his crew check it out. No problems were found, but thanks to their expert tweaking, it's sounding better than ever.

A friend of mine has a MA. I sent a link of the RHO to him. Maybe he'll chime in.

I think I'm probably the ONLY guy to EVER sell a MA ... and a brand new one at that !

I've been playing the MAS-6 (Black) for about a year now and I couldn't be happier. This is the loudest, clearest, best tone resonator guitar I've ever played or heard. It is a cannon with bell like tone. I owned a W/S Rob Ickes and it was nice and sounded good, but in my opinion the Beard is in a class by itself. I love the Sheerhorns and Tim isn't taking any more orders, but I don't think they sound any better or look any better or are built any better than the Beard MAS. Just my opinion, but I would highly recommend the Beard MA-6

What was I thinking ? I can't get rid on my MA. It's such a fine, fine instrument.
