Hi.
Noticed your classified wanting a first resonator guitar. There are a few price points and brands.
Regal (with upgraded parts), GoldTone are good places to start. Anywhere from $400 - $900 or so.
In that upper $ range, the Wecther / Scheerhorns come into play. Nice quality / tone for the price.
If you are really serious abou tthe instrument, I say skip this step and look for a good used Beard or other high-quality make. You may end up spending two grand or up in this category ?
What is your budget ?
I may be selling my 2004 Beard R model soon, but this may be out of your budget range ?

Just to add a little to Mitch's good advise,
I would recommend for you an OMI Dobro D-60 , classic Dobro sound, made in the USA, and a Dobro not a dobro. They are also affordable!! If you do some poking around you should be able to stay under $800 and if you take care of it you should be able to sell it for the same price or more. That is just my opinion. It does depend on the type of sound you want. An OMI has some bite to go with the bark. The newer sound post styles sound much cleaner and clearer.

I'll second Square Necks recommendation - I recently bought my first Dobro, the very OMI that he recommends and it's all that he says and more. Been pickin' in the basement for a while now, hope to take it to a jam real soon. Good luck with your purchase.
