So I take it, there is no provision for people to post a response to a classified ad, right Eric ?

There is--you can send an email from the "homepage" of your ad. I just sent you a test.

Why should a dobro player never leave home without his slide?
Just in case he''s in an accident, he wouldn''t want to be mistaken for a banjo player.

Thanks. Yes, I'm aware that I can email the person, but that does not add to the classified thread, right ? So others can't see any questions relating to the ad.
If we're going to dialog about a classified ad, why not just list the item right here ?

"If we're going to dialog about a classified ad, why not just list the item right here?"
Because trust me, once you get a good number of ads going, you'll get a lot more exposure for your item if you list it under the classifieds (where people can search for what they want ,etc) than just listing it in a forum. The way to get maximum exposure is to list in the classifeds, then post about it in the Swap Shop forum and post that topic link to your classified ad, so people can click back and forth between both places.

Eric, I like the way you have the classifieds set up here, not to allow comments. I've listed guitars for sale at ResoNation, then had to suffer extraneous comments and hijacks that really detract from the ad.

The comment thread just ends up here instead of tacked on to the classified is all... but if you don't start a thread here, then, yes, no comment "hijacks" as you put it.
