I bought by Dobro in 1976--think it is a sixties model. Has a biscuit bridge.
Recently discoverd the cone "caved in" and the strings were buzzing of course.(At first I thought it was he neck or the nut.)
I opened the resonator up and pushed the cone back into shape. There was a big indentation around the bridge circle. The guitar still does not sound right and the strings are still buzzing. Do I need a new cone?

climbro, I am sure someone with more experience than me will spot and reply to this thread. Here's a brief past discussion that may help you: resohangout.com/forum/to...OPIC_ID=4107
I'm wondering if the cone is sitting flat all the way around or if the spider legs are solidly touching. Could it be the buzzing you are hearing is a string vibration caused by the bridge not properly set up? A really good setup resource is the Beard reso set up dvd. It has really helped me.

Any day is a good day to play music, and today is a good day.

If the cone had caved in as you said then I would definitely replace it. Dpete's advice is great if you're not a luthier or experienced with this type of thing I would take it to a reputable luthier (Who is experienced on Reso's) and I would definitely check with Beard, they're great!
