What is the proper way to adjust that little screw into the cone between the saddles on a spider bridge?

I loosen the screw and then turn it down 1/2 turn from where it just touches the bridge.

I guess I live on the edge. After I loosen the screw, I turn it 1/4 turn after it stops the buzz.

The string buzz from the spider being too loose and rattling against the cone.

Sounds like time for a leg adjustment. You really shouldn't use the center screw to get rid of a leg buzz. If I loosen the center screw in my guitar, it just gives off a hollow sound, no buzz.
