Hi Everyone,
This has been a long time coming, but I'm happy to announce that next week we'll be launching a redesigned Reso Hangout.
You can see and use the new site right now at dev.resohangout.com.
The new site is much more powerful and flexible when it comes to mobile devices, which is very important in today's world.
Apart from this mobile responsiveness the new site is functionally very similar to the live site, although it's been given a facelift. Behind the scenes, though, this is a big change which lays the groundwork for powerful new features to come. Once the new site launches, we'll start launching lots of new features including member tagging in posts, real-time PM chatting, easier uploads and the use of secure SSL throughout the site.
Try the new site out and let me know what you think! It's a work in progress, and we're still fine-tuning it... but the plan is to take the new design live tomorrow or the next day. The new site is using the exact same data as the live site, so you can use the new site right now to post on the forum, browse classifieds, etc, and your changes will be reflected across both versions of the site.
If you come across any issues on the new site, or just want to comment on it, please post below. Like I said, we're shooting to take it live by Wednesday, Sept 13.
Stay tuned!

Wow! Looks great Eric.
Thank you for your hard work. This appears to be a major upgrade.

Big improvement. Hopefully it will recognize links when they are pasted in :)

I love that you can get anywhere you want to go on a mobile device from the first page menu without scrolling around. Great!

Glad you guys like it so far. It'll only get better as we build it out and fine-tune things!

Are the "Groups" gone with this new design? Don't seem to be able to find it anymore.
Example: Weissenborn Group

The site looks great! I had trouble reply to this thread from home. A text box did not appear after clicking on reply. Since I am able to reply here at work, I wonder if it is a browser setting issue. Any thoughts?

A couple things:
Maybe the folks who paste links directly into the body of the post will figure out now that the icon on the tool bar directly to the right of the emoji guy is where a drop down box will appear, and after pasting a link in there it will come out as as being "clickable" in blue. Now the new icon actually looks like a piece of chain link. - so perhaps some light bulbs will go on. At least I hope so.
The thing is Eric, on just about any internet forum for a number of years now, or on a social media page, or in the body of an email message, when one copies-and-pastes a link, they don't have to locate something on the toolbar to help them make it "clickable." It pastes right into the body of the text.
Is having the link icon on the toolbar with a drop down box a limitation of the software or is it something that can be modified?
The other thing is using the "Source" icon to embed a video. I learned how to do that a few years back but I bet only a small percentage of the members even have a clue as to its purpose.

The good news Mark is that at least it is more recognizable and looks like most HTML editors. so, the those of use who use and HTML editor will be more familiar with the interface.

Temporarily hidden, but they'll be back and better than ever.

This was a temporary bug that is now fixed.

People are always fixxin things that ain't broke/ But as technology changes folks feel the need to have the newest gizmos so change is inevitable
not being a tek no junkie myself it don't matter to me / I love the Resophonic Guitar and anything Squareneck related and tho I don't check in as much as I used to I still do regularly
the real time chat feature may be the doohickey that makes the thingamajig not be so discombobulating

First re-designed site I've seen that I didn't dislike ! You know how Vermonters hate changes with something familiar just for the sake of change.
One thing I don't see that I used to use is being able to go back in the active topics 6 hours, yesterday, last week etc. Or is it hiding somewhere ?
billmccloskey - Posted - 09/14/2017: 08:36:48
Eric is there a way to delete a classified ad? I couldn't find a way.

Yes, same as always. Click to edit your ad, then use the links at the top-left to remove it.
