Hi there:

Just wondering if anyone would have the Dobro Tabs for the Jerry Douglas version of Carolina In My Mind?

Thank you very much for your time.

I would be keen for that too!

I just worked through the intro. A couple of disclaimers - I've only been playing dobro a few months, so I'm sure I've missed a few JD tricks. Partway through a piano enters, playing chords behind the dobro - this makes it hard to detect the quiet fill notes he puts between the melody - but should be easy to find ones that work for you. He focuses mostly on the melody, mostly on the high string. If I were playing solo, I might use the D-chord at fret 7 to allow more chordal options - better yet, since I have a 7-string reso, I'd tune G6 which gives me the full Am chord when needed - just a fuller sound. If you have another instrument backing you, then of course they can play those chords.

I just spotted one error - the last line, the first open note on the second string should be between the two open notes on the first string.

Please pardon any errors. And thanks for pushing me to learn this song - it was on my list!

Doug:

Thank you for doing this. I know it takes a lot of time to figure out some of these songs. Thanks again. Have a wonderful day!

No problem. It IS difficult to figure out as close as you can how he played it. I would never play it exactly like it's tabbed - like he played it, or as close as I could get it. But I'm not above stealing licks or moves I particularly like! The guitar player I play with (just jamming now, but maybe some open mics or low-key gigs in the future) will probably try to tackle it - pay homage to my NC roots!
