I don't really know much about Scheerhorns but if it's a National it's not that good of a price (I don't think)... I'm not looking for a new guitar but I rarely see any used in this general area. Thanks!

Looks like a National to me. They have a different looking finish to me than the Tim built ones. This finish looks like Nationals.

It is in fact a Nati-horn. He wrote the price is negotiable.
The reason I went through the exercise is that someone scored a Tim-built awhile back from I believe a pawn shop in the Midwest for around $4300 - so it doesn't hurt to ask.

No, it's anything but a steal. As I wrote earlier, the seller is willing to come down. Which is a good thing because Elderly has a new maple for just over $3500 which will include the factory warranty from National.
I looked at the National site earlier today and they have raised the list price on the maple to $4000. Rob Ickes is showing that price on his site.
As is the case with production model Martin guitars - no one who puts any energy into researching this sort of thing pays "list price."
