Hello friends.
I play around 60 gigs a year. I was using a Myers external mic/pickup. Then 1/4 to the board. Myers btw is an excellent product for what it does. I finally got tired of the thin sound I was producing with my 1937 Dobro brand square neck resonator. After talking to Kent Schoonover on the phone he suggested I ship my guitar to him and he will install a new modular spider bridge with a Fishman pickup. Kent says the sound well opening is likely egg shaped and therefore new spider / cone not a drop in replacement. He is all setup to router the hole round. He also replaced the cone. Likely original. So I get it back and play unplugged. Wow ! really loud. I'm likin' that ! Now it's plug and play. Tried it tru the system but still not that rich Resonator sound when played thru a mic. So I purchased the Jerry Douglas JD from Fishman. I only found a couple of settings, there are like 16, that I like but there is a sound quality improvement. The pedal imo is overpriced. The Schoonover modular spider with Fishman pickup and cone are very affordable. Kent answers the phone or calls you back. Took about a week to turn it around. Kent is in Oklahoma I am in WI Cheers !
