Cool - so you can renew your membership with the discount code. Great - I joined this past January but haven't put in the time I'd like in 2021, and I got 50% off when I signed up.

I thought that when I retired a couple years ago I would have all kinds of time for music. I would hear people say years ago "I'm busier since I retired than when I was still working!" I never really bought it when I'd hear that...

Now I know what they mean.  I'm having a heck of a time today replacing a leaky bathtub spigot (25 years old from when the house was new) and getting it to work properly. What I really want to do this afternoon is just hole up in my office/music room and play the dobro.

Luke, I'm curious how you accomplished this. I filled out the form and was going to make the payment and in the process it showed on the screen that my next renewal would be a year from today. 

I emailed Big Music Tent and was informed if I went through with it I would in effect be cutting short my current membership since I enrolled in late January this year and will be up for renewal in late January 2022.

My membership had literally just expired so I logged into my account and purchased another plan. I'm not sure how they do it when adding onto an existing subscription. You would think they'd let existing subscribers take advantage of the offer.

Weird - I think with my membership agreement it reads that I will be automatically renewed when it comes up again in January - sort of like when you subscribe to a magazine and it renews the following year unless you contact the publisher and put the brakes on it if you don't want to continue. 

Maybe when you originally enrolled they didn't yet have this in place. 

I guess I'll see what happens in January.

I wasn't going to say anything before, but the add does specifically say it is for new members only. When Luke posted about his renewal, I thought maybe there was a glitch in the system, but it looks like maybe not, or else they fixed it.

They do have different discounts throughout the year, and I think most of them are for new or old members. If I remember correctly, last year there was a pretty big sale around Thanksgiving and it was for new and old members. But right now, it doesn't look like the company is old enough to have a repeating tradition in place. They are just doing discounts when they want. I don't mean this in a disparaging way, but just to say that they have not established a pattern yet.
