Hello,
I am currently in the market for a square neck guitar, and not finding too many options available (in Germany/europe).
One that looks interesting is a square neck from Markus Koch (koch-guitars.de).
The Gunpowder model looks interesting and I am considering a drive down south (long drive for me) to have a look.
Has anyone any experience, opinions, etc... ??
Thanks,
Scott

No experience, but they look very nice. Please report back if you get to play one.

If I’m not mistaking Martin Gross plays one, and he is certainly a fine player. He has a few videos playing one you could check out. Cheers!

I know there are some videos online of Rob Ickes and maybe even Jerry Douglas playing them. I’ve always thought they looked nice.

Nice tip r.e. Martin Gross. I'd not heard of him, but he as a nice style and seems to have started here in Germany.
There is a really friendly bluegrass community here in the Cologne area.
I hope to make it to the south next month for some skiing. If it works out I will be stopping by to check out the Koch shop if at all possible.

In this interview, Martin Gross makes mention of a luthier named Siegfried Dessl in Stuttgart who made him a custom square neck. If you are making road trips in Germany, you may want to check him out also. Nice looking resonators on his web page. Good luck.
