Are NRP Hotrod cones and spider bridged resonator guitars compatible? I just read a post that discussed the NRP Hotrod cones installed on tricones, is there a model for spider bridged guitars?

No they are not compatible NRG does not make a cone for spider bridge. They are different animals.

National was spininning their own spider bridge style cones when they were making the Smith & Young guitars for a couple years. I have one in a box waiting to go into a guitar. They looked like the typical spider bridge cone - the didn't have "ridges" like the Hot Rod cones used in the biscuit bridge guitars.

They stopped making those  cones when they entered into the agreement with Tim Scheerhorn to take over building his guitars which hit the market as I recall in 2013. They began using Scheerhorn cones at that point.

Tim is in his seventies so there must be a game plan in place to spin his cones or have someone else supply them in the future.
