If anyone out there has any experience playing these I'd be curious to hear how they compare to other beard models.

I was hoping you’d get some feedback on this. I’m interested in how the Standard Radio E compares to the Josh Swift standard if anyone has been able to play both.

After Harry started this thread, the following day I posted the same question on the Dobroholics page on Facebook. I even linked one for sale at The Music Emporium In Massachusetts.

The were no takers  then, and none since when I did a search there today.

I believe several of these guitars have been sold so far, but apparently to non social media players.

I'm still waiting for the separate Radio Standard website to unveil. The temporary page shows "Spring 2022." To Paul and company - it is now officially summer.

Matthew, it's a long ways from Laredo to Dallas (sounds like a Waylon Jennings song wink), but if you're ever up that way  I believe the Guitar Sanctuary has four in stock - two E's and two R's.

Mark, Thanks for the effort. I was seriously thinking about a second reso to leave in D tuning, as I hate going back and forth. I beat down the GAS and went for a Hipshot, which I installed last Friday. The learning curve for using it isn't too hard. Relearning the fretboard in D tuning, not so easy.

Harry, Mike Witcher gave me a good tip. In D tuning the middle 4 strings are the same interval as the bottom 4 in G tuning. (5-1-3-5) So any lick or scale can transfer over. Hope I explained it right. In D tuning you have the same low root and end up with an extra open high root.

Thanks Mark. I've looked at their inventory online. It's awesome. I need to make myself get up to Dallas.

I don't seem to find the links to this new reso. Would those that have already succeeded post their links? Thanks.

E body Radio Standard equipped with a DoubleShot. Like a number of other Beard models, the most prominent example being the Mike Auldridge Signature, the material is Finnish birch veneer.

That's one that was tempting me.

Thanks for the link, Mark! Definitely a BlueBeard!

I am very pleased with my JS Standard.  It has that sound.

Any reason why you went for the Standard over the solid maple Swifty signature? Aside from the lumber - it appears right off that all the other specs are the same. And they both have the acrylic scoop inside.

Was it a price consideration?

Whoa -  I just noticed... this is post #4000!!!

I am new to Resophonics so yes it was price. However I dont feel I received a lesser instrument sound wise.

Well,  for being new to resophonics you still went for a place in the high rent district, though not in the penthouse!

If anyone is interested I am putting my unplayed Josh Swift standard model up for sale. Sunburst, HSC. Selling for financial reasons.
