I am looking for a round neck 12 fret metal-bodied resonator guitar for blues. My budget is $700. So far the Gretsch Honey Dipper looks like it might be my best option. I was looking at Republics, but they are out of stock of the finish I want and I have found mixed reviews of the company.
Does anyone here have a Honey Dipper or another suggestion? I am open to other brands.

I have a modified square neck one. I would loan it out if you are close.
Don’t play it much. Working hard on the improvising thing. Hard enough in one tuning.

The Guitar Center website used gear page has an import Regal RC-2 for $650. I am quite pleased with my RC-1 (14 fret) and RC-51 (tricone). And, after a pro setup + National cone it's really quite nice.
Guitar Center may not be the coolest place to shop, but I have a '54 Fender D-8 and '38 tricone courtesy of their used gear page.
