I can't ( or at least are too computer illiterate ) to go back to my threads when I first came here about six years .

My gorilla sized fingers are too large for normal commercial finger picks .

Back circa 2016 , a nice member sent me a pair that were perfect . Of course , the relevant information long since wore off the label , but IIRC was " Saddle something " .

Fast forewards to now .

After a layoff , when my local suitable Jam venue closed after the passing of the owner , my guitar playing friend ( Merle H reference ) has finagled a new venue . I stopped by directly , then phoned home ( 15 minutes away) for daughter to grab my usual Reso , and my little fanny pack with picks , bars , & miscellaneous paraphernalia . Them got the call from the Wife , that we have the usual Reso , and the change of pace Reso , but the goodie pack has Magically Vaporized !

I put the Reso , reso stand , and goodie pack away , together , literally all in contact , but Noooooo , they're all sticking to their story they searched the whole house ,but my pack of essentials has Magically Vaporized , and isn't there .

Bars , thumb picks , tuners , spare strings , etc * can * be replaced , but I'm stranded for Jumbo Finger Picks .

What is the Brand Name / maker I'm looking for ?

Are they still made ? ( I recall something about maker semi retiring , and pulling back ? )

Is there another ( not regular commercial distributors ) alternative ?

The "saddle something" right off rings zero bells with  me.

As far as retiring, what immediately comes to mind is Pro-Pik. Inventor Jim Mapson, who was located here in the Bay Area retired a couple years ago and sold the product line to Deering Banjo. 

But this is just a shot in the dark - Pro-Piks are pretty unique and it seems unlikely you would forget the name.

Good work Ken. Now I vaguely recall the article and video when it came out seven years ago because I receive the Bluegrass Today articles by email. 

Then I guess It faded out of memory because I'm happy with my picks.

Acri fingerpicks are a possibility. They are more like thimbles than typical fingerpicks and are very comfortable. They come in medium and large sizes and in brass and stainless steel. Elderly carries them. Unfortunately, the large size is out of stock at the moment.

I had elsewhere gotten recomend of pro piks , and will also look at Perfect Touch .

This reinforces that I should have had multiple back ups , stashed in different places .

Meanwhile , an hour later . His former website is defunct . and apparently only has facebook now . I don't do facebook , but called home to Mrs Biggfoot , and she will try later on this evening .



Now , for me to persue some Pro Pik and Perfect Touch .

  Ok , found the perfect touch website right away ! Sizes , yeah !

   But now multiple choices , and I'm drawing a blank ? 

   Standard or Middle ? What's that mean ?

   Round or Flat ? I know the usual meaning of the words , but don't understand in this context ?

  I've only ever sucuessfully used the one set that actually fit me . To me they were just Finger picks . presumably normal .

   I guess I could just buy one of every combination and recognize it when I see it ?

     And now . another hour later . the Pro Pik website has me even more confused . with Ten choices !

   Arrrrg . If these were at a brick & mortar store , I could fondle them for a few minutes , but physical stores pretty much only have the regular Dunlap products .
