Anyone know where I can get the cover plate screws. Can’t find them anywhere.

Are you missing some or all? I had a similar issue and took a screw to the local screw shop, or whatever it's actually called- all screws in all sizes, and they matched it.

Missing all of them. I know they are metric 2mm fine thread, but can’t find them. I may have to just use a wood screw, but that’s not the right way.

I don't have a suggestion where to find the screws, if you can't get them online from a bazillion suppliers I would get a hold of Fender/Gretsch.

Though I'm curious  - how is it that all of the screws are missing? surprise

Oh no, the classic rookie mistake!

I learned a long time ago with any project to have a small bin nearby to hold all of the fasteners and small parts.

I keep a few of those plastic tubs in my tool chest in the garage, the kind that mushrooms come in at the supermarket.

After making those same mistakes as your son in my younger days I finally wised up. wink

I would try Luthiers Mercantile or Stewart McDonald but I found some down at Home Depot in town that worked fine. There are a couple of nut and bolt specialty places in our nearest city that have everything imaginable. Perhaps you have something like that nearby?

I'm not sure why I didn't think of Luthiers Mercantile - they're two miles from my house!

It's worth a shot.

A shot glass is great for holding the screws when working- the side/bottom is rounded, so they don't get stuck in the corner when you're trying to fish them out like with a plastic pill container.

And yes, that also keeps one from imbibing with said shot glass, which makes dealing with those tiny screws even harder.

Here is a clickable link to the screws at Resophonic Outfitters - but are they the correct size for a Gretsch Honey Dipper? Paul doesn't list the actual size.

The description:

"Coverplate screws that come in a set of 12. Fits Beard™ USA coverplates and most Dobro® style coverplates. Stainless steel phillips head wood screws."
