Folks,

I'd like to find a fingerpick that is similar in profile to these ProPik Fingertone cutaways, but with a full (closed back) blade. ProPik's non-cutaway picks have a blade that is too narrow. Likewise with the Nationals I have.



I'd like the whole finger pad covered, and ideally picks that do not extend too far out length-wise. I realize this will take some trial and error, but any leads appreciated. Much of what I see online looks to be too narrow of a blade.



Note I'm not looking to re-start a "best fingerpicks" thread...I know that's been done and redone.



Rather, any metal fingerpicks look like they may resemble this profile, but in a solid/not cutout design? The fit is perfect on my F-Tones in the photo, but I want a solid pick.

I think you’ll be pretty hard-pressed to find fingerpicks with a blade that wide. If you haven’t had a chance to try out Ron Landis’ picks yet, his “Landis” style blades are fairly wide and rounded compared to a lot of other picks to accommodate different players’ attack angles. If they aren’t your style, you might contact Ron directly and see if he’s willing to come up with something. I’ve heard of him doing more customized versions of his picks and even some one-offs. The worst he could say is no.

Is there a particular reason you'd like the entire finger pad covered? FWIW, my Acri picks cover most of my pads, but the only part that concerns me is the couple of millimeters where the tip meets the strings. Don't mean to open a whole discussion, just curious.

I may have misled with my description. They don’t necessarily need to cover the whole finger pad, but rather the width of the blade would ideally be similar to the width of my finger, such as is the “ring” of the ProPik in the photo I attached.



With the narrow blades, I tend to miss the sweet spot occasionally depending on where I’m picking. Also, pick blocking is easier with the cutouts, and harder for me with narrow blades. I think wider blades would be an easier transition away from the cutouts I’ve been using.

Greg Boyd's got the Acri picks in stock - might be worth trying before you get into custom picks. I'll buy them from you if they don't work out - not a bad idea to have a spare set since they're often out of stock...

Fred Kelly sells a delrin pick that might work, also check the Alaska picks.
