I've got a Beard Mike Auldridge Signature that I'm absolutely in love with. The other day I made the mistake of trying to clean the cone and after putting it back together it just sounds dull. Still sounds great, but it's missing some of the magic.

I want to take it to someone who knows what they're doing to set it up but don't know where to go. Is Gryphon my best bet for someone who can properly set it up? Any other recommendations?

Schoenberg Guitars (om28.com/) in Tiburon might be able to help.

I'd recommend Gryphon, though.

I bought a used Phil Leadbetter (RK) from Gryphon. The set up was excellent. Don't live in the area so I can't recommend anywhere else, but I'd guess they would be a good place to start (NFI).

I don't know how much help Eric Schoenberg in Tiburon would be. It's been a few years since I have been in his shop, and historically he has a tech guy for repairs, but his knowledge is in flattops of all kinds - and he is a great fingerpicker  himself.

Brad and Mike's suggestion of Gryphon would be the most logical - but I have never spoken or communicated with anyone who had a dobro setup done at Gryphon, so Bishop - you might have to "take one for the team," and then let us know how it turned out.
