Hello,
I am still continuing my search for a dobro and found again a used one online. This time in Germany and relative in the neighbourhoud.
Hopefully the forum can help me with some extra details about this dobro. Its serial number is 8 214 8D.
Thank you in advance!
Regards,

It's a 1988 Model 60D made in Huntington Beach, California. Nice looking Dobro with the sunburst finish.
Should be a good solid guitar. But it's going to have the sound that goes along with that era. There's nothing "wrong" with that - but a lot of modern players prefer the sound of the large body more open design guitars. It's part of why it's pretty rare to see professional players using these guitars nowadays. Information below on how to de ode the serial number.
1980-1988 OMI Dobro: 8 (#)### yD configuration.
8 is the decade of manufacture (8=1980s).
2 or 3 or 4 numerals in center are serial number for year.
Numeral y before letter is last digit of year.
Last character is body type: D=wood, B=metal.

I had one just like it and it was a fine instrument, but the finish was flaking off. I sold it to a pro builder and he did a modern setup on it and all was good. He was glad to get it.

It looks like it’s in pretty good condition. If the price is right, I say go for it. Cheers!

Gefeliciteerd!
