I’ve noticed that a lot of people immediately dismiss our sterling silver picks because of how nice they look. Some people immediately think it’s a gimmick. “I get it” says one guy… “picks as jewelry - no thanks”
The fact is that the die striking has more to do with the function of raising the teeth on the inside than imparting decoration. But being a die engraver, my thoughts were that as long as we’re striking them, I may as well engrave the other die so they’ll also be attractive.
But for those who think that we’re only charging that much because of a bunch of frilly froo-froo, I’ve come up with this new “No Nonsense” pick I call the “Super Sticky”. Named so because that’s exactly what they are. Instead of being die struck, the inner gripper teeth on these are hand cut one at a time, They REALLY grabaholt as my uncle Alvin would say. There’s considerably more labor involved in these than our die struck models, but I only priced them at $2 higher than our most popular style. Soon available in nickel-silver as well.

I like mine especially for Dobro. I will probably order a set in nickel silver when they come out. YMMV.

JohnnyAce Yeah the nickel ones are great for dobro. They've always been an option on our website, but not well promoted. They're a bit more labor intensive than the silver ones and sources for cupro-nickel are limited and pricey.

If you made a set with angled picks like the ProPiks, I might try them again. The straight geometry didn't work for me.

I wish you would come out with a much cheaper set of picks. There probably is a market for a cheaper set.

These have always been an option just like the claw shape.

I wish we could too. These are made by hand in the USA and we're not exactly getting rich. In fact, we have some critical financial challenges coming up really soon, It's entirely possible these will never be available again at any price if things don't work out.

A pair of Nickel Super Stickies. These are kinda tough to make since the metal is tougher than silver. It's harder to raise the gripper teeth. This pair was made by request and the cost is the same as our silver picks. If I ever get caught up, I want to make a pair for myself. I think they'd make great dobro picks. Hand made in the Ozark Mountains from .036" nickel silver.
