Does anyone know what pick up Jerry has on his blackbeard guitar.
I don't know how to copy the site so I will type it.

beardguitars.com/jerry-douglas/

He is playing choctaw hayride.
The main reason for me asking is I'm wondering about the price.
Thanks, bob

Combo of the the Fishman "Jerry Douglas" pickup and "Jerry Douglas" model Aura imaging pedal PLUS the Lollar gold foil.

That's what he used live, last time I saw him.

Thanks Howard, Would he use the Lollar with the fishman or seperately.
I like the tone he got on the choctaw hayride but I guess the only way to find out exactly what he was using would be to ask him, your good at that kind of stuff Howard, do you know? bob

What makes you think he was using a pickup in that video? I see a mic in the picture.

What Howard wrote - in the video Jerry is playing into a mic.

When he plugs in along with the Fishman Nashville which is part of the bridge insert or saddle, he has a Jason Lollar "foil" neck pickup. The design is modeled after the old Japanese Teisco electric guitar pickups. The most well known user of the vintage version is Ry Cooder on his Stratocaster which has been coined the "Coodercaster."

Jerry uses it sometimes on his Beard to get a more beefy low end, but the Fishman pickup is the main thing.

Video below of  Jerry 's rig rundown on the Premier Guitar site from about four years ago which we have discussed here on multiple occasions. A lot of it is about his lap steel setup, but just past the 16 minute mark they discuss the dobro setup.

I have a reissue Danelectro Convertible guitar with piezo and lipstick pickups; one of the knobs is a blender for them. I'm guessing there's a blender for the Fishman and Lollar pickups?

Fishman makes several onboard blenders/preamps. I don't know which one(s) Beard uses. Might be a combo of several.

Beard also might be using a combo of the Powerjack/Powerchip devices.

At least in many of his resos, Paul uses a Fishman PowerChip, which provides both stereo and mono output for the pickups, plus volume control for the piezo (your add your own for the magnetic, separately). He uses this setup in the road-o-phonic also, and I talked extensively with him when I bought one of those.
Jerry and Anders Beck both keep the output in stereo and send the magnetic output to a separate small tube amp that is mic'ed. The Fishman bridge pickup goes to a Fishman Aura pedal on the pedalboard.
I just use a Saturnworks Active Combiner on my board to combine the two signals after the Aura and before the other pedals, then through a DI to the PA. See pic of my custom instrument, lap steel plus dobro, that I replaced the Roadie with...
