I'm a 'newbie' to reso playing ('monkeying' around for the last 3 years). I plan to attend my first ResoGatNC (5-9 JUL 2023). As instructed, I sent an email to resogatnc@gmail.com on 20 MAY 2023 stating I planned to attend and requesting more information. I also preordered a T-shirt. (I have no idea if I am supposed to pay the requested donation and/or for the T-shirt in advance or at the site.)

To date, I have not received any reply.

Is this normal?

I plan to drive up each day I attend (since I live only 1.5 hours away).

If you have additional information (including what to expect), please share with those of us who have never experienced ResoGat.

You pay for your Tshirt when you pick it up.
Check ResoGat.org for info. There is a ResoGat FB group and if you are on FB and want to join the group, message me from this site and I will invite you to join.

The ResoGatNC website is under construction at present; no other information there yet.

Thanks for the FB invitation, but I'll pass; I studiously avoid the social media sites. Hard to explain why, given that I'm a retired software 'engineer' and not a technology Luddite.

toddborger is leading ResoGat organization this year. He may have more detailed information, but in years past, registration has been so simple I think I'm doing it wrong. Sign up by email, show up, provide donation (suggested $20) if you can, pay for your T-shirt, enjoy.

Without going into the details, I had a very harrowing experience nearly resulting in my career being destroyed because I made a sarcastic email observation, on a private email list that I myself paid to join, regarding the lack of technological astuteness of certain high-level government officials and their staffs.

Todd is pretty busy. You pretty much just show up and you can buy a shirt and donate there. If you tell him you’re coming you can get a name tag. Look forward to meeting you there!

Hey All,
Luke is right, that this has been a pretty busy time. I'm not sure how he knew that, though! (We probably need a retired person to head this up.)
We are good to go for July. We will update the Facebook with more information as we draw closer. Also, for those who are signed up, I will be emailing the updated information.
Bob is correct that the website is in the process of being updated. Probably the wrong time to be trying to do so, but there it is.

Having received no information (like registration time, hours, schedule, etc.), I took a chance and drove up, arriving at 09:30 on 5 July. I was informed by the hotel desk that registration opens at 4:00 PM. I know (from previous experience with harmonica festivals) that everyone involved is very busy. However, we did manage to get registration date/TIME out to all interested parties in advance, as well as event schedules. Just sayin’…

Registration: 5 JUL2023 at 4:00 PM according to the venue.

Never a waste of time to ‘explore’ the local area. Drew (front desk) suggested the Wilkes Heritage Museum. Lots of musical history in the Hall of Fame. Also a detailed history of Wilkes County as the ‘moonshine capitol’ and videos of the transition from running moonshine into NASCAR racing with Junior Johnson and other runners telling it like it was.
