Hi everyone,
I have barely ever posted on this site because all my questions have usually been answered several times over, years before I ask them.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for sharing your knowledge and experience. I have spent many many hours reading old posts and threads.
I have been reading about a new Boss amplifier, the AC-22LX. Has anyone tried this out, any opinions?
Cheers
Richard

I just checked it out, here is the factory demo video. Unless someone here is an industry insider who has had a chance to to take one for a test tide, it's unlikely that any hangout members have tried one yet - I believe it may have been released to the public just yesterday.
Right off it seems to have a lot going for it. Listening to the demo with earbuds while he is playing the Taylor flattop, I don't hear any piezo "quack." Though a Taylor with its Expression System 2 pickup might be better at taming the quack than a lot of acoustic pickups.
I'd like to check one out in person with my Clinesmith, utilizing the JD Aura pedal and then muting it to see how the guitar sounds through the amp without the Aura.
Boss has a line of acoustic amps with a mic channel called the Singer Live and Singer Pro as a one stop shop for a singing and playing solo performers. This AC-22 has a mic channel, but there isn't any information that I have found that discusses the mic channel for vocals - right off it would appear that the mic channel is for an instrument that doesn't have a pickup.

In the article linked below the singing aspect through the mic channel is mentioned. Though it doesn't have the bells and whistles of the Boss Singer amps.
In my town we have regular busking in front of a popular locally owned supermarket, and there are usually musicians playing at our Sunday Farmer's Market.
This new Boss unit might be a good choice for those scenarios, and the cost won't break the bank.

Thanks for your thoughts Mark. It seems like it could be a decent little amp.
To convert the New Zealand dollar to the US dollar you basically double and add a bit more for shipping so I expect this will be around $1000.00 by the time it gets here. That becomes a bit of a deal breaker. For example, a Compact 60 AER amp is about $2100.00.
