Hi. New to the forum.
Purchased this recently and wonder if someone could tell me what model dobro this is. I believe 71-72 is the production year. It seems to have a shorter body than others.

You have a mid to late 1960s Dobro. This was the period when Semie Moseley of Mosrite Guitars owned the brand. The most obvious feature is pair of "cheese grater" screen hole covers.
There is a scan of a catalog somewhere online with model numbers. I may not get to it tonight but if someone else doesn't come up with it in the meantime I'll see if I can find it in the morning.

Below is a link to a Mosrite Dobro brochure circa 1965. Reseaux, your guitar appears to be a Model D-40S - "The Blue Grass"
These guitars do not have a great reputation in Dobro history. I have read that there was a lot of tension in the Dopyera family when the sale of the brand was made to Semie Moseley around 1965-66. Apparently all parties were not in agreement with the move.
At any rate it was a relatively short lived era under the Mosrite banner. The Dopyeras regained use of the name and renewed guitar production with the Dobro logo in 1970 after Mosrite went through bankruptcy.

Thanks much for the info identifying my guitar.
It is my first Dobro and I am having fun learning my way around on it. It has a great rich dobro tone.
