It's one I've got the chance to buy second hand. It looks like a reissue. Perfect condition, nice new looking neck, fingerboard, paint, etc. Serial number is 14752. The serial number is embossed into a small brass plate held onto the back of the headstock with 2 small pins. As for what the guitar looks like imagine a mint condition mocha Triolian in a hardcase. There's no Hawaiian girl on the back. That's all the information I have. Assuming it plays good and the action, intonation, technicals, etc, checks out what would yall say it's worth? The sellers asking $3000. What should I offer?

You can see from National’s web site that the guitar was built in 2009. Next I would go to Reverb & see what folks are ASKING for similar instruments.

Not sure exactly what we're looking at regarding the Triolian in question since there are obviously no photos.
Nice Google job by Frederick in coming with the catalog from ballpark 15 years ago. Looks like the the MSRP/catalog price was depending on which version $2100-$2500.
No one ever pays the MSRP (most of the time). The going rate on a 2023 from a couple of National dealers on line is $3780. The catalog/list price this year was $4200.
If it's truly mint and the seller bought it new then he's sort of coming out ahead at $3K since he paid two-something for it, but there's inflation.
I couldn't recall what National's warranty is to the original owner so I checked the website and it's two years. Not os great since Martin for example has a lifetime warranty for the original owner, so no great advantage in buying a brand new National.
Lee, apparently you've seen this guitar in person? A whole different deal of course than an online seller stating it's mint.
I'd probably offer something like $2600-$2700. Since it's mint, if you can get $900-$1000 off the retail price of a 2023 model, I'd feel pretty good about that.
