Having just purchased a 1929 Regal squareneck reso with biscuit type bridge, I wondered if modern reso guages may be too much pressure on the old girl?
It came with Daddario EJ42s, 16-56. Sounds great. Any experience with these old dobros?

With a square neck, it should be capable of handling the standard string gauges...

My 1933 Regal/Dobro is very well content with D'Addario 16/56 Nickel/Bronze strings.
It's a square neck and I have been playing it since 1953...
